Social Security Form Update

After the Social Security Fairness Act was signed earlier this year, the Social Security Administration began updating its forms and procedures. Form SSA-1945, which informs employees that their earnings are not covered under Social Security, was updated to reflect the repeal of the Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Pension Offset. The form no longer has information describing these two provisions but does include a paragraph explaining the repeal.  You can find the updated form on SSA.gov. As a reminder, this form is required for new hires and the signed copy submitted to PERA.
