Get Free Technology Training

Three adults work at computers in an office. An older man types, a woman works in the background, and a younger man stands holding a tablet and looks at the monitor.

Retirees are increasingly using technology in their daily lives, but the rapid pace of change in the tech world can make it difficult to keep up. Luckily, there are programs designed to help.

Older Adults Technology Services (OATS), founded in 2004 by AARP, is an organization whose mission is to “harness the power of technology to change the way we age.” OATS works to empower older adults with the tools and training they need to take advantage of the latest technology.

The flagship OATS program is Senior Planet, which offers free classes, lectures, workshops, and more. There’s a Senior Planet center offering in-person activities in Denver, as well as Miami, New York City, and North Country, New York. Senior Planet also offers an extensive list of virtual programming on topics such as technology, music, health, and wellness.
