Boost Your Retirement Savings with PERAPlus

Worried about running out of money in retirement? You’re not alone—it’s one of the top concerns, according to financial advisors. The good news is that, as a Colorado PERA member contributing to the Defined Benefit (DB) Plan, you’re already off to a great start for retirement.

But if you’re still feeling unsure about having enough to cover your future needs, consider enrolling in the PERAPlus 401(k) and 457 Plans. These voluntary plans give you the option to save even more on top of your DB Plan. (Note: Check with your employer to find out if the PERAPlus 457 Plan is available to you since not all employers offer it like the PERAPlus 401(k) Plan.)

The PERAPlus Plans are a convenient way to set aside more pre-tax money from each paycheck, helping you build the retirement you want. Plus, they offer lifetime income options to make your savings stretch even further in retirement.

Having extra savings in a PERAPlus 401(k) or 457 Plan can be a game-changer, especially if unexpected expenses arise or you’re concerned about keeping up with inflation. The earlier you start, the more time your money has to grow!

It’s Never Too Late to Start Saving

If you’re getting closer to retirement, don’t worry—you can still make a big impact. Once you turn 50, you can take advantage of IRS “catch-up” contributions, which allow you to save more than the annual limit in both 401(k) and 457 plan accounts.

Head over to coperaplus.org and find out how to enroll today.
