PERACare Open Enrollment 2027
Open Enrollment for plan year 2027 begins October 19 and ends November 19, 2026.
PERACare Open Enrollment is the one time each year when you can sign up for a PERACare plan (healthcare, dental, or vision) whether or not you have had prior coverage. You can add new coverage or change coverage for yourself, your spouse, or unmarried dependent child(ren) under age 26. Any coverage you elect during open enrollment is effective January 1, 2027.

Plan Changes for 2027
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Anthem) Pre-Medicare
- UMR will no longer be offered in 2027. Instead, Anthem will administer the medical and prescription benefits for the PPO plans. If you are enrolled in UMR you will be automatically enrolled in the corresponding Anthem plan for 2027.
- The UMR Select Colorado plan is being replaced by the Anthem Pathway PPO, which is available to those who reside in Colorado.
- The UMR National PPO plan is being replaced by a comparable Anthem National PPO plan that provides nationwide coverage.
- For both plans, prescription drug benefits will be administered by CarelonRx, Anthem’s Pharmacy Benefits Manager.
- While plan benefits remain largely unchanged, some copays have been updated for 2027. Refer to the benefit charts for specific copay amounts.
Humana Medicare
- UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage will terminate December 31, 2026. In 2027, the Medicare Advantage PPO plans will be offered by Humana. If you are enrolled in UnitedHealthcare in 2026, you will be enrolled into Humana unless you make another choice during open enrollment.
Kaiser Permanente Pre-Medicare
- The Everyday Care Plan will terminate December 31, 2026. If you are currently enrolled, you’ll be moved to the Deductible HMO plan January 1.
Kaiser Permanente Medicare
- The premium will increase for 2027.
- The medical out-of-pocket maximum will decrease to $3,000 from $3,500.
- The Part D out-of-pocket maximum will increase to $1,900 from $1,500.
- Mail order supply will increase from 90 to 100 days.
Moda Health – New for 2027
- Moda will offer a Medicare Companion plan which operates like a Medicare Supplement plan.
Cigna Dental
- The premium will increase for 2027.

Open Enrollment for Pre-Medicare Enrollees (Under Age 65)
Learn about the 2027 PERACare Pre-Medicare plans. This session is designed for PERA retirees under age 65 that want to know more about retiree medical, dental, and vision insurance options offered through PERA. This webinar will highlight new plan information for 2027. Stay for the entire time to learn about plan details and paperwork you will need to submit if you choose to enroll or change plans.
